I’ve ended up celebrating my Birthday for the entire weekend and it still hasn’t even been my Birthday yet! I’ve confused so many of my friends with when my actual Birthday is and even ended up confusing myself! On Thursday I went to the In The Style Valentines event and on Friday and Saturday I went out to different clubs in London. It’s safe to say I’m feeling a little worse for wear today but it was definitely worth it!
Seeing as I wore pretty much the same makeup each night I thought I would share the products I’m obsessing over at the moment for anyone interested.
- Alpha-H Daily Essential Moisturiser
This is INSANE! My mum got a free sample which she gave to me and I’m so glad that she did because I’m pretty sure this is the best moisturiser I’ve ever used. On the Alpha-H website they state that this product has several benefits:
– Protects the skin against the signs of ageing
– Combines 5 high protection sun filters with antioxidants to nourish and protect the skin
– Lightly textured and provides an excellent makeup base
– Instantly absorbs into the skin without a ghostly white residue
– Non-comedogenic. Won’t clog pores
– Ultra sweat-resistant and low irritant – excellent sports moisturiser with sun filters
– Broad-spectrum UVA/UVB protection
– Water resistant for 4 hours
I love it as a makeup base because it really smoothes out my skin and I find that I don’t get oily as easily when I wear it. Obviously with our rubbish weather I’m not so bothered about the SPF but it’s good to know that I can use this on holiday too.
- Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation
SO I recently watched a YouTube video about makeup do’s and don’ts and learnt that it’s best to use a water based moisturiser/primer with a water based foundation or an oil based moisturiser/primer with an oil based foundation. This made me realise why I’m so obsessed with my moisturiser and foundation at the moment and that’s because they’re both water based. My skin is combination/oily so it’s better for me to use water based products. - Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer (Soft Beige)
My sister stole my NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer and I was too broke to buy a new one so I thought I would try out the drug store dupe. I will never look back. Honestly, this Rimmel concealer is just as good as the NARS concealer and the price tag doesn’t hurt! I leave it to sink into my skin whilst I do my eyebrows which thickens the product and stops it from disappearing when you go to blend it in. I use light strokes with my foundation buffer brush or my finger.
- L’Oreal Paris Brow Pomade
- Benefit 24-HR Brow Setter Clear Brow Gel
- Laura Mercier Invisible Loose Setting Powder
I then used my beauty blender apply powder underneath my eyes and on my eyelids to set the concealer. If you have any recommendations for a good setting powder please let me know in the comments below because I’m looking to try something new!
- Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand
This is the easiest contour to use, it blends into my skin seamlessly and I love the depth that it adds to my cheekbones. The sponge applicator and squeezy tube make it easy to control how much product you use, making it suitable for day to day makeup as well as evening makeup.
- Benefit Hoola Bronzer
To warm up my foundation I added bronzer on my forehead, cheekbones and down to my jawline in the shape of a 3.
- Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Beauty Light Wand
I used this on my cheekbones, above and below my eyebrow, on the tip of my nose and by my water duct. I love this product for the same reasons as the contour wand and because it adds such a natural glow to your face.
- Marc Jacobs Eye-Conic Longwear Eyeshadow Palette, Scandalust
This is the most amazing eyeshadow palette I have ever used. I saw it was used on Emily Ratajkowski to create the most beautiful bronzy/pink eyeshadow look and it was one of the first things on my Christmas list! It’s not cheap but the colours inside are so versatile and pigmented it’s definitely worth the investment.
- Benefit Coralista Blusher mixed with Dandelion Blusher
I have an old cheek palette from Benefit which has the Hoola bronzer and all of the blushes inside. I can’t find the exact one that I have but there is a newer version which I have linked here.
- Pat McGrath Labs LiquiLUST 007 Divine Nude Liquid Lipstick
I can’t find a link to this as I think it was in a limited edition however if you want to see more about this you can read my previous blog post or have a look on the website.
